- Coordinated interview scheduling for 150+ candidates, calling each one to confirm availability and running first-stage phone screening before panel interviews.
- Digitised and indexed 300+ employee files, scanning and labelling paper records into a system the HR team could actually search.
- Prepared candidate summaries in one standard format, which made panel shortlisting faster.
- Entered and checked 100+ employee and candidate records in the hospital's HR tracking system.
- Handled confidential employee information under hospital HR policy.
Sadia FerdousHR Executive
I keep hiring moving and employee records straight — interview coordination, candidate screening, personnel files and HR reporting, done carefully enough that nobody has to check my work twice.
Recruitment support · HR operations · Employee records · Labour Act 2026 ready
HR work is mostly trust, and trust is built on records
I am finishing a BBA in Human Resource Management at Daffodil International University, with all coursework and both internships complete and only the final defence left.
My first internship was remote, at a studio where I tracked attendance for a 26-member team and wrote the daily HR reports management read every morning. My second was on-site at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital, where I called more than 150 candidates to arrange interviews, ran first-stage phone screening, and digitised over 300 employee files that had only ever existed on paper.
A hiring panel moves at the speed of whoever is organising the paperwork. I like being that person.
I keep candidate communication prompt and polite, I keep employee information confidential, and I would rather fix a record error before the monthly report than explain it afterwards.
I am looking for a full-time HR role in recruitment or HR operations, and I can start immediately.
Two internships, finished properly
- Tracked daily attendance for a 26-member remote team and corrected record errors before monthly reporting.
- Produced 50+ daily HR reports on attendance, headcount and team activity for management review.
- Wrote and formatted internal HR documents in a clear, consistent style.
- Supported interview coordination across 3 hiring rounds, including candidate introductions and scheduling.
- CGPA 3.05 / 4.00, with coursework in Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Labour Law, Strategic Management and Business Communication.
- Member, organiser and volunteer at the DIU HR Club and DIU Business Club — seminars, workshops and leadership events.
- NextGen Leaders' League 2024 — three-day programme on corporate culture, soft skills and career readiness.
- IIC certification for a business plan covering market analysis, financial projection and HR strategy.
What those internships actually produced
Every figure below comes from work that was completed and signed off — nothing is projected or rounded up.
The panel makes the decision. Everything that has to happen before the panel can sit down is the part I own. Hover a stage to see what it involved.
150+ candidates were contacted individually to confirm availability, phone-screened, and written up in one standard summary format so the panel compared like with like.
Funnel widths show the sequence of stages, not a measured conversion rate between them.
Each mark is one employee file I scanned, labelled and indexed at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital. Scroll, and they convert.
Before this, finding one employee's file meant walking to a cabinet. After it, the HR team could search. This is also the subject of my internship report on moving HR processes from paper to digital.
Not a self-rating out of ten. A filled mark means I did that work in that place, and it is on my CV.
The pattern says what kind of HR person I am: strongest where recruitment coordination meets records and reporting, which is exactly the work an HR executive is handed first.
The Labour (Amendment) Act 2026, and what it changes on Monday morning
The amendment took effect on 10 April 2026, following the 2025 Ordinance, and touches roughly ninety points of the Labour Act 2006. I studied it because an HR department that misses these dates gets found out at the next buyer audit. Here is the short version I work from.
Who counts as a worker
Coverage now follows the nature of the work rather than the job title, so classifications have to be checked against what people actually do. Managerial, administrative and supervisory roles stay outside the definition.
Registration and dues
Union registration uses fixed member numbers scaled to the size of the establishment, with a cap of three registered unions per establishment. Dues deduction applies to all registered unions and must be deposited within fifteen days.
Anti-union practice
Blacklisting, employer-controlled unions and retaliation against complainants are covered. The Director General of Labour can order these stopped and award compensation without going through the Labour Court.
Leave and end of service
Maternity leave, festival holidays, lay-off eligibility, death compensation, dismissal and resignation benefits, the wage revision cycle and eviction notice periods all changed — which means payroll configuration, not just the policy document.
Harassment and safety
New prohibitions cover forced labour, gender-based violence and sexual harassment. Every establishment must form a five-member complaint committee chaired by a woman with a female majority; fifty or more workers also requires a safety committee, and workers may refuse dangerous work.
Penalties
Fines have risen substantially and imprisonment applies to more serious violations, including those causing injury or death. The Alternative Dispute Resolution Authority exists in law but is not operational yet, so disputes still go to the Labour Court.
First 30 days
- Reclassify the workforce against actual duties
- Constitute the complaint committee
- Update leave configuration in the HR system, not only in the policy text
By 60 days
- Recalculate end-of-service reserves
- Put an audit trail on union dues deduction
- Revise contract templates and the employee handbook
- Establish or verify the safety committee
By 90 days
- Train line managers on retaliation, interference and blacklisting
- Build a grievance route people will actually use
- Prepare the file for buyer and supplier audits
Summarised from a published HR briefing on the amendment (MiHCM, 2026). Implementing rules for the harassment framework are still pending, and figures and section references should be confirmed against the gazetted text before anyone acts on them.
Projects, research and training
Coursework I chose to take further than it needed to go.
Moving HR processes from paper to digital
A study of the HR department's paper-based workflow at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital and an analysis of how it could move to a paperless system — written while I was the one doing the scanning.
Workforce management and labour law compliance
Studied workforce management practice at Merchants Ltd. and Shapla Foods, checked it against labour law requirements, and wrote a formal Industrial Analytical Report on what I found.
Market analysis, financials and HR strategy
Built a complete business plan at the Industrial Innovation Centre, DIU — market analysis, financial projection and the HR strategy to staff it. Certification awarded.
NextGen Leaders' League
Three-day programme run by the DIU HR Club on corporate culture, soft skills and career readiness. Certificate awarded. I have since helped organise events on the other side of the table.
Bangladesh Labour (Amendment) Act 2026
Worked through the amendment effective 10 April 2026 and its roughly ninety changes to the 2006 Act, and turned it into the practical checklist on this site.
DIU HR Club & Business Club
Member, organiser and volunteer — seminars, workshops and leadership development events, including the logistics nobody notices unless they go wrong.
What I carry home from work
People tell you to keep a CV neutral. But the way a person spends a quiet evening usually explains how they behave on a difficult Tuesday, so here is mine.
Old songs, mostly
The ones recorded long before I was born. There is a patience in them that newer music keeps trying to skip, and I think it shows up in how I listen to people on a phone screening.
The riverbank
My favourite place to think is wherever the water is wide and nobody is in a hurry. Most of what I have decided properly, I decided sitting beside a river first.
Growing things
Plants only reward people who show up regularly and notice small changes early. That is also the entire job description of HR operations, so I consider it practice.
Looking up
I take more photographs of the sky than of anything else. A good evening sky resets a long day faster than anything I have found, and it costs nothing.
Coffee, properly made
The first cup of the day is not negotiable, and I will happily take the long way to a good one. Most of my best filing systems were designed while a cup went cold beside me.
A very small guitar
I play the ukulele — badly enough to stay humble, well enough to keep going. Four strings turn out to be plenty when the point is the evening, not the performance.
